Adult - CANSail Basic (Evenings)

No previous sailing experience required! CANSail Basic encompasses CANSail 1&2. Sailors may take CANSail Basic as many times as they wish to complete the requirements for CANSail 1&2. ADULTS with child aged 7-18 yrs


No previous sailing experience required! This is a course specifically designed for families to learn to sail together. Registration is per parent and child pair. The course curriculum encompasses CANSail 1&2. Sailors may take the course as many times as they wish to complete the requirements for CANSail 1&2. Progress will carry over between multiple sessions. Sailors can reasonably expect to achieve one CANSail level per session.


Course runs from 6:00 - 9:00 PM, two evenings per week for four weeks.

Introduction to Sailing Daycamp - Optimist

Children aged 7-12 yrs


No previous sailing experience required! Learn the basics of rigging boats, sailing, near-water, and on-water safety; in a fun, safe, and engaging environment! Sailors will be instructed in Optimist dinghies. The Optimist is a one or two person boat, designed specifically for youth. Each student may have the option of sailing a boat on their own.


We'll endeavour to spend as much time on the water as possible, but the course pacing will be based largely on the students and weather. This course is intended to be a positive first introduction to the sport of Sailing.


Course runs 10 am-3:30 pm, Mon-Fri for one week.

Introduction to Sailing Daycamp - RS Feva

Youth aged 10-16 yrs


No previous sailing experience required! Basic concepts are introduced and tried by first time participants as part of an opportunity to get out on the water and experience sailing. The RS Feva is a two or three person boat, so students will be organized into pairs or groups.


We'll endeavour to spend as much time on the water as possible, but the course pacing will be based largely on the students and weather. This course is intended to be a positive first introduction to the sport of Sailing.

Regatta registration fees are the responsibility of the participant.

Wetfeet

New for 2020! This course is for youth, ages 8-13 years.

Optimist Race Team

Youth ages 7-14 years


Our Optimist race team is able to accommodate and develop sailors of all skill levels, from sailors new to racing to seasoned racers, with a minimum of CANSail 1. Through participation two evenings per week in sessions of coached racing and training, sailors will build skill and confidence and develop as individuals and as a race team. This is a sport in which boys and girls can be equally competitive.


Sailors with an appropriate skill level will be able to participate in BC circuit regattas. Sailors are welcome to participate in any, all, or none of the chosen regattas. Costs for regattas are not included in the price of the regular program and will be the responsibility of regatta participants. Parents will be expected to assist with transportation of sailors and boats.


Program runs 4:30 - 7:30 pm, Tuesdays & Thursdays.

Junior Race Team

Youth ages 12-18 years
